For the price, I was not expecting much, but we needed overnight lodging after flying into PDX at midnight and Ramada offered a free shuttle from the airport. I was most impressed with my short stay. To access the shuttle, you just call from baggage claim and they arrive within about 10 minutes. Our shuttle driver was friendly and humorous. The Ramada itself was clean and very quiet. The room was spacious and had a really nice foam matress that I was able to sleep well on. They had a large flat screen television in the room, but the channels did not match what they had listed in guest services. The bathroom was clean and also spacious with nice San Francisco Soap Companies products. The room also had a mini-fridge and microwave, as well as a large desk for doing business. There was a pool and gym, which I did not have time to use, and a very lovely, well-planned and decorated courtyard, featuring vegetation of the Pacific Northwest. The layout of the Ramada did leave something to be desired, as we needed a map to get to our room and the directions went something like "first you take a right, then a left, then when the carpet turns to marble, you go left, then up a flight of stairs, then right..." and so on, which is a lot to process at 1:00am after you have been traveling for 10 hours. Overall, it far exceeded what I anticipated when looking for a room for around $50.

We stayed at the Ramada before flying out of Portland. Nice, clean room. They upgraded us to a suite at no cost, I suppose simply because they were book almost full that night. Great location although right on the edge of a rough part of town. We would stay again.

We read the reviews and thought it didn't sound too bad...it was horrible. The parking spaces were really small and the parking lot was poorly lit. The building's siding was falling apart and the sidewalk were uneven. We were lucky to get upgraded to a mini-suite which smelled liked mildew, had blood on the walls in the bathroom, and dirty glasses for use. The shower was hard to adjust from scalding hot to ice cold and the bottom sheet did not fit the bed we were fitting elastic around our head and feet all night long. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is not one that you want to play around in at night. Besides the thin walls and noisy neighbors it was relatively quiet which is the only positive I can say. We will spend more money and stay downtown next time. I wish someone had told me this sooner.

This motel is a good bargain. Clean, courteous, close to airport, parking for $20 while taking your flight, good shuttle even at 3:40 a.m. Sometimes difficult to find especially at night. Will stay again. You may need a map, available at front office, to find your room.
