Harpenden House Hotel is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian town house with a rich history in Harpenden offering consistently comfortable. At the beginning of the 19th Century it was used as a -School for young ladies- and subsequently it has been a private house and a convent for the Dominican Sisters.Harpenden House Hotel has been operating as a hotel since 1970 and many of the original period features remain/ including a large 18th Century fireplace in the Welcombe lounge. There is a modern annex housing additional bedrooms and meeting facilities. Guests can enjoy the panoramic views of the East Common from our terrace area. Please note that Harpenden House will be undergoing renovation and refurbishment throughout 2007- but impact to guests will be kept to a minimum.The hotel is ideally located for access from M25/ M1 and A1 and is just 6 miles from Luton Airport and is close to a wide range of attractions/ such as Hatfield House/ Knebworth House and Whipsnade Wild Animal Park and the town of St. Albans.
