When my husband made this reservation, he asked if this was the nice hotel by the lake at the airport (I'd TOLD him that hotel was a Marriott) ... and the reservation agent said yes. It is neither by the lake nor is it ""nice""! Desk clerk was sullen except when dealing with the airline pilots checking in; there was a bad smell in the lobby, worse smell in the bedroom. There was a thermostat on the wall that must have been a dummy - The heat came from a wall unit across the room controlled by one of those 1950's motel dials. And it produced a lot of heat and a lot of noise. Impossible to set it to a comfortable temp. There was some sort of dried white dripping down the side of one of the chairs, stains on the carpet, toilet seats UP in the bathroom when I checked in, and dingy bed linens. The bed was supposedly a ""sleep number"" bed with a remote unit - but the unit did nothing. The mattress was rigid and uncomfortable, as were the pillows. Polyester everything except for the thin bath towels. When I arrived and said that this was not the hotel we'd been told it was, I said that I would just drive over to the Marriott and would like to cancel the room. The clerk said ""no problem"" canceling the room, but the charge would still be processed on my American Express card. This was the only reason I went ahead and stayed there. Would never do it again - Would go ahead and PAY the $*** just to have a clean quiet room somewhere else!

A nice, small hotel located a few minutes from the airport. It looks to be an older hotel that has been made over, not glamorous, but very nice. The room was very clean and the sleep number bed was cool! The rooms border a small courtyard which was very nice, kind of like being out in the country. There is a restaurant on site, nothing too fancy, but a nice variety and very friendly service. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful! The know the Kansas City airport and quickly figured out when we needed to leave on the free shuttle for our early morning flight and arranged a wake up call. They also took down information on our vehicle that we were leaving in their free parking, including an emergency contact number, very reassuring! The free shuttle service was very prompt and friendly both to and from the airport. We will definitely use this hotel again for our Kansas City departures!

Long time checking in with understaffed front desk, paid for a room with an internet connection that didn't work, after some hassle was given a room with a sleep number bed that lost pressure overnight, got a burger in the restaurant, was told that they were out of fries and I'd have to take chips. I expected that a good experience from a Radisson, particularly given the location next to the airport. Seems like management is neglecting the facility. Wish I'd stayed at the budget hotels next door.

What happened
02/13/2007Normally like this hotel. 1.5 hr wait for all meals, every diner had bad experience. not enough water pressure to wash hair. the bed would not adjust. outrageous rate.
