  This is an above average European hotel overlooking Lake Como. With the tendency of the lake to flood, which it did while we were there, it is set far enough back from the lakeshore for the entrance to be above water. While nothing in Como is far from anything else, this hotel is quite close to the main piazzas of Como. It's a block from the water taxi dock, and about a five minute walk to the funicular station. The elevator induces the common Euro-elevator-claustrophobia. A ""double"" bed is the typical scheme of shoving two twins together, so don't expect much spooning. Other than that, the room was quite comfy. From what we saw, the dining facilities looked good, but there was no way we were going to eat in the hotel with all of the other options.
