This hotel was great for a couple of reasons: nice clean rooms, very good breakfast (the mixture of pink grapefruit, pineapple and oranges was my favorite), within 2 blocks of the Metro station and most importantly the price was right! Just a few negatives: parking was very tight. If you have a smaller car, bring that instead of your truck/SUV. Also, the air in the rooms was very, very dry. Keep water in your room and turn on the air before you go to bed (at least turn on the fan). I don't usually get thirsty during the night, but I woke up every night to get a drink of water.

I recently stayed at this hotel the week of 9/11/09. Nice, clean and fairly close to the metro, a 2 to 3 minute walk. Breakfast was the same as most Hampton's. Staff was fairly friendly.

As I was in Washington DC for the marine corps marathon, I don't think I could have booked a better hotel. It was convenient to the metro, to the shuttle bus to the marathon, and to the post race party. There were excellent restaurants in easy walking distance. The hotel provided a very good breakfast each morning and even set up early on the day of the marathon. The people at the front desk were most helpful in answering questions. The maid service was very good. The room was big and bright with everything in working order. It really is a convenient location to get to the attractions in Washington DC, to the shops in Crystal City (if you are there to shop) and to fine dining without needing the use of a car. I intend to book there again.

Overall this was a great experience. The room was nice - it appeared new or recently remodeled. The free breakfast was more than adequate for a continental breakfast. We arrived in town just before noon. Their official check-in time is 3pm, but they allowed us to check-in early into a non-smoking king bed room just like we reserved. Their parking spaces are small. We have a small car, so this wasn't a big deal for us, but I'd hate to try to park a large car or SUV in there. Perhaps the spaces got larger as you go farther down into the basement????
